Mah CM says Bajaj should restart Akurdi plant

Bajaj Auto 's decision to stop production in its oldest plant in Akurdi, is now attracting political interest. State Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh says the government will insist that Bajaj Auto rethink its decision.

 

Deshmukh has stressed that octroi, one of the reasons why Bajaj has decided to shut its plant,  will be abolished soon.

 

Vilasrao Deshmukh, Chief Minister, Maharashtra said, "Bajaj shoudl restart." When asked about whether he would offer any incentive for Bajaj to restart operations in Akurdi, Deshmukh said, "That will be decided in the meeting between Sharad Pawar and Bajaj tomorrow."
