Mafatlal family row: complaint against Atulya quashed
The Bombay High Court today quashed the criminal complaint of harassment against industrialist Atulya Mafatlal, filed by his estranged wife Sheetal, after the couple sorted out the issues between them.

Sheetal on one side and Atulya and the Mafatlal family on the other are embroiled in complaints and cross-complaints for last one year. While she had lodged a complaint of harassment against Atulya and his family, Atulya's daughter Marushka had accused Sheetal of stealing family paintings.

When all the parties moved the High Court separately seeking to quash the respective complaints against them, the bench of Justices V M Kanade and P D Kode appointed a senior lawyer as mediator, and asked the family to resolve the matters amicably.

Earlier this month, the mediator informed the court that while Sheetal had resolved dispute with Atulya and some members of the family, the issues between her and Atulya's brother Ajay and sister Gayatri lingered.

Sheetal's lawyers told the court that while Atulya had apologised to her, Ajay and Gayatri had refused. The High Court will now hear their petitions separately.

Today, the HC quashed the complaint against Atulya, in view of mediator's report that he and Sheetal had buried the hatchet.
