“This proposed L&T Technology Centre-II signifies the long-term aggressive growth that L&T Infotech is poised to achieve. We are rapidly building facilities like this to take advantage of upcoming opportunities, ” Mr. A. M. Naik, Chairman & Managing Director, L&T, and Chairman, L&T Infotech, said. Mr Naik was speaking on the occasion of the Bhoomi Poojan (offering prayers to the mother earth before digging for construction work) for a 5000-seat Software Development Center for L&T Infotech here today, signaling the formal commencement of construction of the Twin Tower (designated as L&T Technology Centre –II).
“Following the footsteps of L&T in scaling up the minimum size of its accounts, L&T Infotech, is also scaling up the minimum size of its accounts, ” Mr Naik said and emphasized that L&T Infotech was in tune with the overall philosophy of its parent L&T in continuously adding value and building the nation.
The proposed 8-storeyed twin towers will have an office area spread over 5,39,000 square feet, a basement covering 2,52,000 square feet, in addition to a terrace having helipad facility. The construction is expected to be completed in about 18 months.
Earlier, Mr. V. K. Magapu, Chief Executive, L&T Infotech; and Member of the Board, L&T, performed the Bhoomi Poojan, signaling the formal commencement of construction of L&T Technology Centre –II. This construction is a vital step in the expansion plan that got off the ground on April 03, 2006 with the inauguration of a Center in Chennai; followed by the inauguration of the Bangalore Campus on May 29, 2006; Powai Center on June 09, 2006 and Mahape, (Navi Mumbai) Center on June 11, 2007.
