Linksys®, a Division of Cisco Systems, Inc., and the recognized leading global manufacturer of voice, wireless, and networking hardware for home, Small Office/Home Office (SOHO) and small business user, today announced the immediate availability of the Linksys Wireless-N ADSL2+ Gateway (WAG325N) which provides the all-in-one solution for Internet and wireless connectivity. This new solution incorporates a Wireless-N access point, router, ADSL2+ modem, SPI firewall and 4-Port 10/100 switch, all in a single, easy to manage device.

'Always On' Internet Connectivity

The ADSL2+ modem functionality offers a high speed broadband connection to the Internet, that is far more effective than a dial-up and without the need for tying up a phone line. The built-in 4-port 10/100 Ethernet Switch is designed to allow users to share files, printers, hard drive space, and other resources simply by connecting their computers to the Gateway. This provides a choice for users to either attach four wired PCs directly, or connect other switches to create a larger wired network as necessary.

Advanced Wireless-N (Draft 802.11n) Technology

The WAG325N built-in Access Point allows users to connect wireless devices to the network without wires. The Access Point built into the Gateway uses the very latest Wireless-N (draft 802.11n) wireless network technology which is designed to provide up to 12 times the throughput and 4 times the range of Wireless-G*. The WAG325N with Wireless-N technology also has the ability to significantly reduce dead spots in wireless coverage area.

"The new WAG325N is really an all-in-one solution for Internet connectivity. We believe the new Gateway addresses users' needs with the ease of use that consumers have come to expect from Linksys and the level of speed that Wireless-N and ADSL2+ offers, makes it ideal for media-centric applications like video streaming, gaming and Voice-over-IP calls, even all at the same time." said Sanjeev Gupta, Linksys Regional Sales Director for Asia Pacific.

Virtual Private Network Terminal and Security

In addition, the Virtual Private Network (VPN) function creates IPSec encrypted "tunnels" through the Internet so up to 5 users have the ability to securely connect to a remote network. The Gateway helps protect data and privacy with up to 256-bit industrial-strength WPA2 encryption and 802.1x authentication and authorization. It also has a powerful SPI firewall to help protect users' PCs against intruders and most known Internet attacks. These security features can be quickly enabled with the Linksys Web browser-based configuration utility.
