The 300 bed Lilavati Hospital Mumbai recently won 'The Trusted Brand' award by Reader's Digest and India Today. It is the only hospital to be recognized thus in this poll.

 

At this event, Dr. Narendra Trivedi, Vice-President & Senior Surgeon at Lilavati said "To mark the 10th anniversary of Lilavati Hospital, we are planning to set up a second 300 bed hospital and a diagnostic centre in Mumbai,"

 

The Mumbai-based hospital is presently scouting for land in western and eastern suburbs of the city and expects to start construction by the end of the next year.

 

"The cost of the project would be approximately Rs 200 crore but it can vary depending upon the cost of the land and also according to the type of equipments installed there," Trivedi said. He also informed that the funds would be met through internal accruals.

 

The Lilavati Hospital has also taken a telemedicine project on an experimental basis. For this it has tied up with state-owned and would provide telemedicine facilities to the medical centre located near rigs.
