Lenovo today announced the opening of its exclusive service centers across India as part of its strategy to strengthen customer support and offer consistent and high-quality service. The first three Lenovo Service Centres are now operational in Bangalore, Delhi and Mumbai. Lenovo is now planning to expand the network to 13 more cities in India by December, 2007. The exclusive service centres are Lenovo's first in India, and globally, after China.

The Lenovo Service Centres provide post-sales product support for Lenovo's consumer range - Lenovo 3000 Q and H Series desktops and Lenovo 3000 Y Series notebooks. Customers will benefit with a better turnaround time for post-sale support requirements, besides high standards in quality of service, reliable processes and a uniform user experience at the Lenovo Service Centres. Lenovo also plans to introduce Lenovo Xpress Service, a mobile facility to pick up products from resellers and provide them with replacements quickly. Lenovo Xpress Service will be introduced in 8 cities across India, by December, 2007.

Speaking on the launch, Sudhir Puthran, Director, Service and Support, Lenovo India said, "The launch of our exclusive Lenovo Service Centres is another significant step towards understanding our consumers better and providing them with a consistent experience of high-quality service and support."

The Lenovo Service Centres will mainly be Business Partner-owned and supported by Lenovo's Services Protection. Lenovo currently offers service and support in 94 cities for its consumer PC range in India through its franchisee service model.

Lenovo has also set up three consumer spares warehouses at Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata, in addition to its existing warehouse in Bangalore, to address spares requirements quicker. Customer requirements will now be addressed by warehouses directly in North, East, West and South India. This is another step towards assuring substantial enhancement in turnaround time for any machine breakdown calls.
