Engineering and construction major Larsen & Toubro (L&T) today said it has bagged new orders worth Rs 2,683 crore in the current month across various segments both in the domestic and overseas markets.

"L&T Construction has won new orders worth Rs 2,683 crore during September 2013 across various business segments," the company said in a statement. The firm has bagged orders worth Rs 1,334 crore in the water and renewable energy sector, it said.
"Three of the major turnkey orders received are from the Public Health Engineering Department of Rajasthan for integrated regional drinking water supply projects linking several towns and 650 villages in Barmer, Banswara and Pratapgarh districts," it added.
The company secured new projects worth Rs 1,194 crore for its buildings and factories business, including an order for design and construction of a mega residential project in Chennai. "The power transmission & distribution business has bagged an international order worth Rs 155 crore from a reputed customer in UAE", it added.

On September 19, 2014, Larsen and Toubro closed at Rs 1535.30, down Rs 39.6, or 2.51 percent. The 52-week high of the share was Rs 1774.70 and the 52-week low was Rs 777.10.
The company's trailing 12-month (TTM) EPS was at Rs 62.86 per share as per the quarter ended June 2014. The stock's price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio was 24.42. The latest book value of the company is Rs 362.65 per share. At current value, the price-to-book value of the company is 4.23.
