Balbir Singh Uppal, CMD of Lakshmi Energy & Foods in an interview with CNBC-TV18's Ekta Batra and Reema Tendulkar, spoke about the recent happenings in his company and the business outlook. Below is the verbatim transcript of the interview. Also watch the accompanying video. Q: In particular for this year, what is your export target to the gulf? A: This year by September 30, our export target is Rs 600 crore. Q: On a versus figure, how does it stand up in terms of growth? A: In terms of growth, the export is double. Q: What’s the kind of revenue that you can expect from your domestic brand? A: Our domestic brand’s growth is Rs 400 crore for Lakshmi Foods. Q: You indicated that you were looking to launch Rs 121 Pusa basmati rice. How has the production for that shaped up? What will you be garnering from that? A: This year we exported 1,00,025 metric tonne rice to Gulf countries and 75,000 metric tonne was sold in the domestic market like Bombay, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata and Bangalore. Q: You are expecting a doubling of the Gulf export? Where do you see this growth coming from? A: This year our exports and domestic sales were high. The increase (growth) is about 10-15%.
