KPIT Cummins Infosystems Ltd (BSE: 532400; NSE: KPIT), a global IT consulting organisation, announced today a strategic partnership with South Africa based Business Connexion. The partnership is in alignment with the company's global expansion plans. South Africa is a strong emerging market with only a few Indian IT providers having an established presence there. The company is trying to capture on early mover advantage. The company's strategy is to reap the benefits of a strong early mover advantage.

The partnership is focused on manufacturing, diversified financial services, advanced technology solutions and the automotive and industrial market sectors.

Mr. Kishor Patil, MD & CEO, KPIT Cummins speaking on the occasion of the partnership said "We believe that this partnership opens a new era of growth for KPIT Cummins. South Africa is an emerging market and we would like to capitalise on the opportunity. Business Connexion gives us an access to large base of customers and also added skill sets in infrastructure management which we can deploy with the KPIT customer base"

Commenting on this development, Benjamin Mophatlane, Deputy CEO, Business Connexion added "These sectors are booming. With KPIT Cummins' explicit experience and proven BPO delivery capability in these vertical markets, this partnership provides Business Connexion with a scope of skills, experience and capability unmatched by any other local service provider." Mophatlane points out that the widely reported skills shortage in South Africa is hampering business growth in some sectors. "We believe the partnership with KPIT Cummins is a concrete intervention that supports the government's Accelerated and Shared Growth Initiative. Instead of debating skills shortages, we have found a fulfilment partner able to provide the necessary expertise to support the growth of South African industry and business sectors" added Mophatlane.
