The retail outlet war in Kerala has intensified. The Kerala government is looking at bringing in legislation to ban the entry of Reliance Retail outlets, reports CNBC-TV18.

The Kerala government will enact legislation within the next three months. Currently, Reliance has three outlets in Kochi.

The Food and Civil Supplies Minister C Divakaran says it has also asked a local body to revoke licenses of Reliance Retail's three stores in Kochi. It will set up bazaars across Kerala instead.

"The mood of the people is against the entrance of Reliance in the retail sector. We are going to pass a legislation on the lines of the Essential Commodity Central Act like a state-level act. In that, we are going to add some powers to the state government to restrict or to prevent these monopoly houses in the state level retail sector," said C Divakaran.
