Amit Kalyani , Director of Bharat Forge talks about Kalyani Group 's foray into wind energy business.

Excerpts from CNBC-TV18's exclusive interview with Amit Kalyani:

Q: What space you are getting into? Which company are you buying and what kind of consideration will you have to pay?

A: We have recently acquired a company in Germany, which is in the engineering and consulting space of the wind energy business. This is a company, which does complete end-to-end product development of wind energy systems.

Q: What kind of cost is it and is the Kalyani Group acquiring any particular company?

A: The consideration has been paid, but all I can say is that it’s an exciting time for us to be getting into this renewable energy space and we are hopeful that the company we have acquired, which is called RSB Consult will help us move into this sector very fast.

Q: It’s not your main line of business. It’s a clear diversification. Will this eventually develop into fairly big interest for your group?

A: We have put the whole infrastructure supply business or the non-automotive business as a focus area and this is one step towards creating a large strategy for that area.
