JSW Steel Ltd said on Wednesday it will expand its capacity to 4 million tonnes a year, from 2.8 million tonnes, reports Reuters.
The company also said it produced 42,000 tonne of hot-rolled plates in April-June, showing an increase of 83% over 23,000 tonne produced in the same period a year ago.
However, production of HR coil fell 52% to 249,000 tonne as the company's plants had shut down during April and May for maintenance and upgradation, the company said in a statement. Production of galvanised products dropped 18% to 132,000 tonne for the same reason.
