Team Rams Racing and its driver, Ashwin Sundar's juggernaut kept rolling with the latter making a clean sweep winning both Formula Swift and Formula Hyundai events with great measure of comfort in the 10th JK Tyre National Road Racing Championship here at the International Madras Motor Race Track in Irungattukottai, near Chennai.

At the end of the third leg (six races each in Formula Swift and Formula Hyundai categories), Ashwin Sundar has put himself as a cinch for winning the Championship title in December after having been placed as winner the   four races held today.

In Hyundai section, Ashwin Sundar has so far tallied 64 points for coming first on five occasions and second in one race.   Today's victories of Ashwin Sundar also enabled his team Ram Racing to forge ahead to the leadership spot for Team Championship Award.

Generally the challenge in Road Racing is said to be the Man on the wheels and the Machine.   Though, Aswhin Sundar should be credited for his devilry and skills but in totality, his tuner Parasuram, the owner of Ram's Racing, proved himself beyond doubt about his ability.

In fact, Ashwin Sundar was taking the corners with such finesse that he gave about three kilometers lead (in racing terms) in each of the eight corners in the 3.6 km track.

Strikingly, all the pole winners in Formula Swift, Formula Hyundai and Formula Rolon categories made it to the top in all six events today that were held in the third (12 races, in all) of the six-legged championship.

Ashwin Sundar winning his events was on the cards but the manner in which he went about the task was different as he tamed others in to submission.   He was confident personified in both the Formula Swift races where he was able to gain good starts and then kept increasing his lead over his eleven followers before taking the chequered flag with a wide margin of ten seconds and respectively.

Aditya Patel, son of veteran driver, Kamlesh Patel finished second in the first race. Aditya starting 5th on the grid had a stroke of luck as Saran Vikram and Karthik Shankar - both from Team WSRF (Leela)   and Rayomand Banajee - starting 2nd, 3rd and 4th on the grid had to pull out of the race following mechanical problems. Aditya made good of this situation to earn a creditable second place.   Sudarshan Rao of Rams Racing came in 3rd.  The race had to be restarted following a vehicle break down after the first lap and the winners were decided on seven lap format as against scheduled eight laps.

It was yet another start to finish affair for Ashwin Sundar in the second race too as he drove showing his skills of keeping up the pace to finish the event in secs for eight laps).

The never say never lose attitude of Ashwin Sundar made him a monarch on the track today as he went on to score yet another double, thus making all his four starts a winning one. In the Formula Hyundai events that followed, Ashwin Sundar was in his elements and never faced any challenge after his two good starts.   He had the felicity to keep increasing the lead in both the races with perfect braking and taking the corners with ilan.  Though he won the second race with a clear difference of 8.537 seconds to his team mate S.Narendran, Ashwin Sundar had some air-filter problem close to the finish.

In the Formula Hyundai category race 1 saw pole leader Ashwin Sundar get off to a good start and lead till the end to complete a perfect win.    A close tussle was witnessed for the second place between JK Tyre Junior Cup Champion, Narain Shankar of Team Rams Racing starting 2nd on the grid and Rayomand Banajee of Team Gemini Racing who started in 4th place. However Narain managed to pip Rayomand for the runner-up spot and Rayomand, despite a determined effort had to content with a third place finish.

Ashwin Sundar kept up the momentum to score a double winning the second race too with ease.

The Formula Rolon Category's  two races belonged to Pune lad Rayomand Banajee, who scored a double sharing the spoils and limelight of the days events with Ashwin Sundar. Both the races were close finished affairs and Banajee had to bring all his resources in the identical play field to win the races. Banajee displayed his experience in the ten year old championship and his affinity to the track helped him to finish the events ahead of Aditya Patel.

Both the races were fought out in every corner and Banajee had his anxious moments before winning the titles.
