Electricity gets costlier in Jharkhand

The Jharkhand State Electricity Regulatory Commission or JSERC has given its nod to an average increase of 16% in the power tariff.

The Jharkhand State Electricity Regulatory Commission or JSERC has given its nod to an average increase of 16% in the power tariff.


The new tariff has been made effective from the first of this month.


The hike in power tariff will help Jharkhand State Electricity Board generate additional revenue of around Rs 449 crore during FY13.


Several other states too are also expected to follow the suit on power tariff soon.
