Jaiprakash Power Ventures rallied as much as 3 percent intraday on Tuesday after the foreign research firm Credit Suisse has upgraded the stock to outperform with a target price of Rs 47.

"Recent power procurement bids suggest higher tariffs are being struck," the report reasoned.

The company will consider its un-audited financial results for the quarter ended December 31, 2012 on January 12, 2013.
 
At 12:35 hours IST, the stock rose 0.90 percent to Rs 39.20 amid large volumes.
