Kingston Technology Company , Inc., the independent world leader in memory products, was recently ranked No. 1 by both iSuppli and DRAMeXchange,  the world renowned independent research companies, in the global dynamic random access memory (DRAM) module supplier market, based on revenues.

According to iSuppli, Kingston® had total DRAM module sales of over $2.2 billion (U.S. dollars) in 2006, nearly $800 million more than in 2005. The 2006 total represented a market share rise to 18.1%, over three times more than its closest competitor, as indicated in a statement released on June 29, 2007.

DRAMeXchange also reported Kingston as No. 1 with annual DRAM revenue of US$1.8 billion and a 20.55% market share.

"To be No. 1 on both iSuppli's and DRAMeXchange's lists is exciting and humbling, especially as Kingston turns 20-years old later this year," said David Sun, co-founder, Kingston. "Our growth could only have been accomplished through the loyalty and support of our employees, customers and our vendors," added Sun.

Founded in 1987 with a single product offering, Kingston now offers more than 2,000 memory products. In addition to Flash memory for the latest digital devices, Kingston's DRAM module offerings include branded or system-specific memory; ValueRAM® memory built to JEDEC specs and designed for system integrators and white box builders; and HyperX® for gamers and PC enthusiasts who demand higher performance and speed.

The iSuppli report encompassed DRAM module revenues only and did not include OEM contract manufacturing or Flash memory sales. In February, Kingston announced its 2006 revenues were the highest in company history, as global sales reached $3.7 billion.
