The product is yet to be commercially launched globally and it is not yet clear as to when it will hit the Indian market. Mr Narendra Bhandari, Director, Software and Solutions Group, APAC, Intel, told Business Line that India would be a big market for the device. Around 200 million Indian mobile phone users will start using data services and access Internet for work and play, he said. What has made this device possible is Intel's 'Atom' processor. The Atom is a very small chip, less than 2.2 cm square, but packs 47 million transistors and consumes very less power. Transistors let or prevent passage of electricity and hence are at the very heart of computing. The higher the number of transistors, the better the performance. Taken from Business Line
