The Intel India Development Centre has been playing an increasingly active role in the Intel® Centrino® Mobile platform development since 2003 when MG-I (Mobility Group-India) was formed in India. From providing post-launch platform sustaining support when Centrino® technology was first launched in 2003 to playing a critical role in the newly launched next generation Intel® Centrino® Mobile platform (formerly codenamed ' Santa Rosa'), the journey has been replete with several interesting milestones for the site. Speaking on the same, Sandeep Shah, Director Mobility Group, Intel India said, "From enabling and supporting global teams to driving major developments of the platform, the Intel India Development Centre has started contributing in a very significant way to the global markets." The next - generation Intel® Centrino® Processor Technology Formerly codenamed Santa Rosa, the newly launched platform is the fourth generation Intel® Centrino® Processor Technology after previous generations codenamed Carmel (2003), Sonoma (early 2005) and Napa (January 2006). The key components and technologies include the CPU (with Intel® Core?2 Duo Processor); Graphics Memory Controller Hub (GMCH) code-named Crestline, I/O Controller Hub - ICH8, 802.11n wireless technology, Intel® Turbo memory and Intel® Active Management Technology (iAMT) for security and manageability. Intel India plays a key role in bringing this platform to the market
