Several teams across the Intel India Development Centre's Mobility Group have made key contributions to this industry-leading mobile platform. The Mobile Platforms Group worked on the following platform development areas: Intel® Turbo Memory software validation: The entire Intel Turbo Memory validation was performed by the India team. With Turbo memory, consumers have up to 20% faster boot time and 2X faster application load. The team also created some of the software utilities and tools that help in enabling certain features of the processor. Customer reference board designand battery life analysis: The team at Bangalore also worked on the customer reference board design. It also developed the Customer Reference Board (CRB) and was responsible for its deployment. The activities under this effort included design, validation, distribution and customer support for the board. Their work also resulted in an increase in the battery life with the use of the new platform Crestline chipset: The new platform uses the Intel® 965 chipset, codenamed Crestline. This was the first mobile chipset program which team owned for the getting the chipset into production. The team completely owned and executed Crestline circuits for the mobile display interface. The Chipset Group worked on key elements of the chipset software: drivers for Microsoft* Windows Vista Operating System and graphics and display drivers. Customer enablement: Last but not the least, the Mobility Group worked with customers in APAC and Japan for enablement. From a technical marketing support and hardware application engineering perspective, the team supported APAC and Japan customers towards launch readiness through technical collateral development and its publication. Currently, our assumption is that no other company in India undertakes development at this level of complexity and such breadth of platform development across hardware and software to meet world markets. IIDC has been steadily contributing to the development of Intel's products. Prior to the new Intel® Centrino® Processor technology, IIDC made significant contributions to the older generation of Intel® Centrino® Duo Processor technology ? based mobile platforms codenamed 'Napa' and 'Napa Small Form Factor' which were introduced in 2006. IIDC has also made significant contributions to Quad-Core Intel® Xeon® 5300 and Intel Core? 2 Extreme quad-core processor families design and validation.
