The Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers' Association [IMTMA] is organizing the Productivity Summit 2007 from 23-25 August 2007 at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre [BIEC], Bangalore. The three day summit titled "Unleashing the Power of Productivity in Metalworking", will address and demonstrate a wide array of productivity-related issues through case studies and keynotes by renowned experts in this field. This is the second year the summit is being organized in continued efforts of bringing Productivity to center-stage to achieve global competitiveness in manufacturing.

 

The Summit will be inaugurated by Dr. Ashwani Kumar; Hon'ble Minister of State for Industry, Govt. of India. Mr. Donald Dinero, Chief Executive Officer, Round Pond Consulting, USA &   Mr. Crispin Vincenti-Browne, Bourton Groupe, France will deliver the special keynote addresses.

 

According to Mr. N.K.Dhand, President, IMTMA, "The objective of Productivity Summit 2007 is to create a multiplier effect in productivity enhancement in the Indian Manufacturing Industry. It will bring together productivity 'gurus', champions and aspiring leaders on a common platform to share experiences, ideas and thoughts on new challenges facing productivity in metalworking manufacturing industries."

 

Over 500 delegates from all across India including CEOs, Senior Executives, Practicing engineers, R&D Specialists, Consultants, experts, technologists, middle level managers and supervisors spanning the entire manufacturing industry, will actively participate in this mega event.

 

The highlight of the summit will be the "IMTMA - SIEMENS Productivity Championship Awards 2007", to acknowledge and recognize creativity and innovativeness of Indian manufacturers in their stride towards attaining highest levels of productivity. Sixteen Top Companies mostly from the Auto sector such as Bajaj Auto , Maruti Udyog , Mahindra & Mahindra , Sundaram Clayton , TVS Motor Co . as well as Key manufacturing conglomerates such as BHEL, HAL, etc. will be competing for the prestigious awards. These companies have come through a stringent evaluation process from over 200 entries received initially. The award winners will be selected by an independent jury of eminent persons constituted for the purpose.

 

The summit is designed to be a major platform to boost productivity and enhance Indian manufacturing to reach global standards.
