Palador Pictures Pvt. Ltd., India’s largest owner of quality content with close to 1000 of the world’s greatest and most awarded films, has announced an exclusive deal with www.indiaplaza.in for promoting World Cinema DVDs. Keeping its promise to take World Cinema to the masses, Foreign Language Films DVDs will be available to everyone online.
The three special collectors’ box sets programmed for this release are Kurosawa Collector’s Boxset (5 DVDs, MRP Rs.2000), Wong Kar Wai Collector’s Boxset (5 DVDs, Rs.2000) and The Collectors World Cinema Boxset (10 DVDs, MRP Rs. 4000).
Not only is it the first time that World Cinema Collectors Boxsets are available legally in this country, it is also ‘accessibly priced’ compared to the cost of these award winning classic films across the world.
Gautam Shiknis, MD of Palador Pictures, says, “These are some of the best and most awarded (Oscar, Cannes, Berlin, Bafta etc.) films in the world, for example classics by past master like ‘Seven Samurai’ and ‘Throne of Blood’ (both directed by the legendary Akira Kurosawa), new masterpieces like ‘In The Mood For Love’ and ‘Happy Together’ (both Cannes winner by living legend Wong Kar Wai), and the critical and commercial hit action trilogy, ‘Infernal Affairs’ that has inspired the Oscar winner ‘Departed.’ We are sure that the discerning customer would lap up this first ever offer for this country.” The box set would also include two Ingmar Bergman movies.
IndiaPlaza.in (formerly the famed Fabmall.com), would be the first online retail store to promote World Cinema exclusively on their site. Under this deal, the three box sets, and later individual titles would be sold on the site in an exclusive ‘World Cinema’ retail store at www.indiaplaza.in
Says, Mr. K Vaitheeswaran, co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Indiaplaza.in, “Indiaplaza has been the pioneer and leader among the online retail stores in the country for several years now. We have offered our customers the latest and the best goods available in the country. World Cinema has arrived on Indian shores for the first time, and we are excited about promoting the same online through an exclusive section on our website www.indiaplaza.in. We are confident that discerning movie buffs would love to browse through this section and pick up original DVDs of some truly exciting cinema.”
Mohan Polamar, Joint MD of Palador says, “This is the sunrise of World Cinema in this country. At Palador, we have been working towards fulfilling this dream for more than four years now. The enthusiasm with which our partners have picked up the deals, is really inspiring for the future of World Cinema in this country.”
Besides over a million customer base of Indiaplaza.in, anyone interested in the movies can buy them from the site
