Impetus Technologies (www.impetus.com), the pioneers in outsourced product development and engineering services hosted the second biggest Unconference, ‘OSS Camp’ at its Noida campus on September 8 and 9, 2007. OSS Cube (www.osscube.com), a leading Open Source Consulting, Development and Training organization, also supported this event.

The day long camps for both the days comprising close to 40 interactive technology sessions were attended by energetic and enthusiastic participants who shared their knowledge with others in the community. For the first time in India specific technology camps such as PHP Camp, MySQL Camp, Apache Camp, Web 2.0 Camp; etc were organized as part of OSS Camp.  There were discussions on code hacking, how best to use web 2.0, Drupal best practices etc.

More than 200 technology experts from across the country and a variety of organizations participated in the Camp with their insatiable desire of learning by sharing with similar minds. The participants included Senior Technology Professionals, Directors of Technology & CIOs, Product Evangelists, Technology Teachers, People from Media, and Students. Some prominent names included, Noel Hidalgo of Luck of Seven (from New York), and Sonali Minocha, India’s first MySQL Certified Instructor & DBA and renowned International MySQL trainer and consultant.

The first community unconference, OSS Camp, Mumbai, was organized on March 24, 2007. The unconference focused on My SQL, Web 2.0, Ajax, and JSON. The organizers hope to conduct more such technology meets in future as well.
