IMG takes review of delay in coal blocks development

JP Chalsani, CEO, Rel Power, says that the company has informed the IMG that the coal production at Mohamurari extension coal blocks has already come in and has started ahead of schedule, reports CNBC-TV18.

Some big companies like Reliance Power, GVK Power, JSPL, Bhushan Steel, Tata Sponge, Hindalco amongst others attended the inter-ministerial group (IMG) meet on coal block review. These companies are part of 58 show cause notices sent by the coal ministry and were present before the IMG to give their status report explaining the delay in the blocks' development, reports CNBC-TV18. 


The IMG today heard eight block allottees from the private sectors. 


On the side line of the event, JP Chalsani, CEO, Rel Power, says that the company has informed the IMG that the coal production at Mohamurari extension coal blocks has already come in and has started ahead of schedule.


The company has also informed that this is the fastest coal production ever achieved in any greenfield projects in date in this country. As far as Raindew's plant is concerened, we informed Sasan is NDO's plant and is going ahead of schedule. Fist 660 mw schedule would get commissioned in December which is four months ahead of schedule
