IIT Kanpur and publishing house Undercover Utopia present Alfaaz, the annual literary festival of IIT Kanpur, to be held on the above days. In its second year, Alfaaz promises to be one of the biggest literary festivals in the country in the coming years.
For the first time this year, they have associated with publishing house Undercover Utopia, as they shares the same objective of being a platform to give voice to young, aspiring authors and writers.
IIT Kanpur is all geared up to take this literary event to another level.
Alfaaz '08 highlights include A Book Fair, Meet the Author, Panel Discussion, Workshops & Interactive Sessions, Book Launches, etc.
Readers can personally 'Meet the Authors' such as Ambarish Satwik, Anuradha Marwah, Rohithari Rajan, Swayam Prakash and Sheen Kaaf Nizam, panel discussions with panelists such as Urvashi Bhutalia, Mita Kapur, Peter Griffin and Anil Goel.
'Workshop' on Journalism by Mita Kapur (director of Jaipur Literature Festival '07) and 'Workshop on Indian Writing' by Undercover Utopia (represented by Mr. Abhigyan Jha and Mrs. Mrinal Jha) will provide hands-on experience of the craft.
The book fair will also provide the platform for the launch of books – 'Release 2.0', a tech thriller by Accenture man Anil Goel, Soul Search Engine, a novel about scientific spiritualism by Al Raines, (both published by Undercover Utopia), along with book signings by all the authors present. The festival will also have literary games, competitions and movie adaptations, etc.
Alfaaz & Undercover Utopia work on the motto that every one of us has a litterateur inside that either gets lost or goes unnoticed. Alfaaz will bring that litterateur to the fore and help it flourish.
