iGATE Global Solutions (iGATE), the integrated technology and operations (iTOPS) company, has announced the appointment of Uday Vijayan as Head - Global Marketing. He will based out of the corporate headquarters in Bangalore, India.

Uday has over 20 years experience in the field of marketing and communication. He brings an interesting combination of entrepreneurship, profit centre management and strategic marketing thinking.

Prior to this, Uday pioneered the concept of 'experiential marketing' in India and worked closely with technology brands like Intel, Cisco, IBM. Prior to this he helped set up the India office for the largest global event marketing company- George P Johnson in India and had driven the strategic planning for IBM and Intel across Asia Pacific.  He also helped set up the European operations for Convergent Software from India.

Uday has earlier had stints at three leading advertising agencies in JWT, Contract and MAA Bozell where he worked on a diverse portfolio of categories and brands like Unilever's-tea, Tata Tea , Tata Coffee , Kohinoor condoms, Prestige kitchen appliances, Volvo and Suzuki motorcycles, among others.
