Mr. John Gantz, Chief Research Officer of global IT research firm IDC US is visiting India to address the top CEOs and CIOs in Delhi and Bangalore early, next month. 

During his 4-day visit to India , Mr. Gantz will share the IDC predictions for the global IT industry for 2008 and beyond and their likely impact on India.  

Mr. Gantz is also expected to kick off IDC India's celebrations to mark 20 years of its presence in India through an association with South Asia's largest specialty publishing house CyberMedia.   

Opportunities in an era of disruption

IDC's annual conference Directions 2008, the 20th in its series in India, will focus on finding opportunities in an era of disruption to be held in Delhi on May 2 and in Bangalore on May 4, 2007, says Mr. Kapil Dev Singh, Country Manager, IDC India .  

A team of top analysts from IDC led by Mr. John Gantz , Chief Research Officer and Senior Vice President, IDC USA ; and Mr. Pradeep Gupta, Chairman, IDC India will highlight the growing uncertainties in the technology market and illuminate the key growth opportunities. 

The event will have a mix of keynotes, topic tracks, and special interest sessions, offering in-depth analysis of specific segments and insights.  Mr. John Gantz is responsible for IDC's worldwide demand-side research, global market models, portal products and worldwide services research. He is also   the chief architect of IDC's Global Internet Commerce Market Model, and one of IDC's chief spokespersons on broad technology and market issues.   

He is well known in the industry through his frequent speaking and consulting engagements and his bylined biweekly column in Computerworld.
