Hope AI pilots' deadlock will be resolved: Aviation MinPublished on Mon, Mar 07, 2011 at 20:46 Updated at Sat, Mar 12, 2011 at 12:00
Civil Aviation Minister Vayalar Ravi has appealed to the union of Air India to withdraw their calls for a strike.. The minister said a 3-member committee has been appointed to deal with the issues facing the pilots. He said ministry officials are discussing the matter with Air India's management. Ravi expressed hope that a resolution to break the deadlock would soon be found. Threats of a strike in the national carrier loomed after a section of pilots demanded pay parity and enhanced working conditions. The Indian Commercial Pilots Association (ICPA) has served a notice to Air India's CMD Arvind Jadhav stating that they will strike work as the management had failed to address their grievances.
