In a free seminar held at Dr. Batra's Positive Health Clinic Pvt. Ltd (DBPHCPL) at Sakinaka, Dr Akshay Batra, (Deputy Managing Director, DBPHCPL), spoke on the role Homeopathy plays in treating stress associated with extreme traumatic situations such as the recent bomb blasts. The talk was followed by a free medical check-up and treatment camp conducted by his team of doctors.

The series of bomb blasts that occurred on 11th July 2006 in Mumbai have left citizens in state of high distress. While the people who were physically injured during the blasts have been undergoing treatment, there is also a vital need to heal the psychological scars left behind on the rest of the Mumbaikars. Some of the plaintive queries arising out of the people seeking counseling and therapy who attended the seminar held at Dr. Batra's new clinic at Sakinaka, included, "How can I forget all this? How can Homeopathy help me over come my fears?"

Speaking at the event, Dr. Akshay Batra said, "The problems facing most Mumbaikars today are psychological and arise out of post-traumatic stress. Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a diagnostic term which characteristically consists of anxiety and depression following a traumatic event. The person continues to re-experience the trauma in vivid recollections and nightmares and suffers from various symptoms such as hyper-alertness and sleep disturbances. Homeopathy is known to provide a healing relief for patients who are in shock or in mourning, for those who are scared or anxious and for those who can't sleep or are just plain worn out. If a person is indicating even a mild response to the terrible 7/11 tragedy, I would recommend him to seek therapeutic help."

Homeopathic treatment does not involve any side effects and therefore it becomes a no-risk form of medicine. As far as the treatment procedure is concerned it is a combination of counselling, family support, a good diet and medication under supervision.
