Gateway Terminals India has set an ambitious national record in operational productivity with MV Maersk Damietta doing 2706 moves in 15:55 hours. These 2706 moves comprised of 1461 discharge moves and 1245 load moves. This record feat was accomplished while continuing with smooth routine operations. The day witnessed 2336 gate-moves, truck turn-around time of 63 minutes and handling of 1673 trucks and 5 trains. MV Maersk Damietta has now become the vessel with fastest turn around time in India.

 

Operational efficiency of container terminal is the key factor controlling cost of vessel operation. With speedier turn-around at the terminal, the costs for shipping lines are substantially minimized.
