Close on the heels of setting up a national record for operational productivity, Gateway Terminals India has completed handling of 1 million TEUs in the current fiscal year (April 2008-March 2009).

 

GTI, the youngest port terminal at Nhava Sheva, achieved the milestone on Thursday, November 20, 2008.

 

The feat accomplished by GTI manifests the company's continuous endeavour to excel in operations and is expected to boost the trade manifold.

 

Commenting on the GTI's latest feat, Mr. Arvind Bhatnagar, CEO, GTI says "Achieving operational excellence while maintaining highest safety, health and environment standards is a way of life at GTI."

 

While Prakash Tulsiani, GTI's COO say "GTI has been performing consistently and we will continue to grow by delivering world-class service to our clients."

 

Earlier, GTI had set an ambitious national record in operational productivity with MV Maersk Damietta doing 2706 moves in 15:55 hours. These 2706 moves comprised of 1461 discharge moves and 1245 load moves. This record feat was accomplished while continuing with smooth routine operations.
