The government may approve a capital infusion of Rs 800 crore in loss-making national carrier Air India by next week, the Civil Aviation Minister said on Wednesday.
The government may approve a capital infusion of Rs 800 crore in loss-making national carrier Air India by next week, Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel said on Wednesday.
"We will move the proposal to the cabinet for the Rs 800-crore capital infusion in Air India by next week," Patel told reporters after a group of ministers' meet.
The government, he said, was undecided on the Rs 1,200 crore equity infusion into the carrier for FY11. "Target of Rs 2,000 crore of cost saving by March 2010 is unlikely."
