The Group of Ministers, or GoM, are meeting today to sort out the dogfight in Indian skies. They are expected to discuss lowering norms for airlines wanting to go international.

Currently, they need to have a 5-year flying record and have 20 aircraft. The only two private airlines which meet these norms are Jet Airways and Jetlite , both owned by Naresh Goyal .

Sources have told the TV18 network that Jet is lobbying to introduce a profitability criterion, which will effectively keep out newer airlines.
