GoAir , India's smart fare airline, proposes to launch its Red Eye operations from October-end. As part of this proposed plan, the airline will operate four Red Eye flights within its current network. These four flights will ply between Mumbai to Delhi (23:10 Hours), Hyderabad to Mumbai (23:30 Hours), Mumbai to Ahmedabad (23:05 Hours) and Ahmedabad to Mumbai (00:35 Hours).

Commenting on the proposed plan, Mr. Jeh Wadia, Managing Director, GoAir said, "Our Red Eye operations will find suitability amongst those passengers who do not mind traveling by the late night or early morning flights. Our Red Eye operations are aimed at cutting down on the long traveling hours spent on a train to cover the same distance. We are optimistic about the passenger response to our Red Eye flights."

GoAir also believes that the Red Eye flights will assist SMEs and business travelers who finish business meetings late and need to connect with a new destination the following morning. "Given today's changing market dynamics, business decisions need to be taken in real time. This has led to a shift in the travel habits of business passengers. In effect, GoAir has witnessed considerable rise in business travelers who choose our airline as the preferred choice for their travel. This is due to our focus on providing quality service, best on-time performance (OTP) and quick turnaround of our aircrafts averaging to about 25 minutes," informed Mr Wadia.

The Red Eye operation is part of GoAir's frequency enhancement programme to be rolled out soon. This expansion plan is being rolled out despite the fact that the airline has no plans to add new destinations to its present network in the current fiscal. The airline is completely focused on the 11 sectors it currently operates in and aims to consolidate its position in these 11 sectors.

GoAir has been consistently recording highest load factors in excess of 80 per cent since the last few months. Moreover, GoAir's passenger traffic in the second quarter grew by a whopping 123 per cent. This consistent escalation in passenger volumes is reflective of the faith passengers have in GoAir as a smart choice of travel. As a result of the growth in passenger traffic, the airline has decided to induct additional flights in key growth sectors and provide more connectivity to our passengers through morning and evening flights in these sectors.

"Our key objective is to first ensure customer comfort and convenience rather then to add new destinations. Our new  schedule, to be unveiled in October-end, will intensify enhanced connectivity to passengers by providing additional morning and evening flights in the 11 sectors that we operate in. We will also add the morning, afternoon and evening connections in Mumbai and Delhi to connect the two metro cities to key business & leisure destinations like Bangalore, Goa, Hyderabad and Chennai," informed Mr Wadia.

Commenting on the expansion plan for its Red Eye operations, Mr Wadia said, "Expansion of our Red Eye operations will be completely driven by market requirements."

GoAir is positioned as 'The Smart People's Airline'. Its captivating theme, 'Fly Smart' is aimed at offering passengers a consistent, quality-assured and time-efficient service.  The airline uses the state-of-the-art Airbus A320 aircraft fleet.
