GoAir aggressively increases its network by 33%

GoAir, 'The Fly Smart Airline' today announced its plan to start new direct flights connecting key cities: Delhi - Goa, Delhi - Pune, Delhi - Bangalore, Mumbai -Hyderabad, Mumbai - Chennai and Cochin - Coimbatore from 22nd August onward. As a part of its aggressive marketing plan GoAir has also put on offer 50,000 tickets at special fares starting from Rs. 525 onwards.

 

The 50,000 tickets will be available to passengers who wish to travel between 19th July 2006 and 14th December 2006. These fares will be applicable to both the existing and the new sectors that will be launched in the coming month.

 

GoAir has recently purchased 10 Airbus A320s at the Farnborough International Airshow and with the launch of daily flight in each direction GoAir continues to fulfil its objective of connecting key metro and non-metro routes. This expansion is the first stage of GoAir's planned expansion strategy to have eight aircraft by the end of the year.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Jeh Wadia, Managing Director, GoAir said, "This is a continuation of our strategy to consolidate on key routes within our current network. We understand that it was important for us to connect these routes as they will provide convenient service to business and leisure travelers alike. With the launch of these new routes, GoAir will be operating more than 32 flights daily across 13 destinations. We intend to provide more connectivity and flight options across our network in the months ahead".

 

GoAir has recently announced a slew of other offers where extended allowance of up to 30kgs is available to all international (both Inbound and outbound) passengers traveling on GoAir flights. GoAir was also the first to launch a scheme that offered 10% off on base fare to Central & State Govt. employees, Current and EX- Armed Forces Officers, Students and Senior citizens.

 

GoAir currently operates a fleet of Airbus A320s with 24 flights covering 13 cities including Jammu & Srinagar and effective 22nd August, 06 the company will operate 32 flights.
