GE Shipping's Board will meet on August 9 to take a decision on the demerger process. According to analysts, there can be three scenarios. In the first case, the demerger deadline may get extended.
In the second case, the demerger process may be halted and in the third case, there could be a possible restructuring of the existing business.
Analysts believe, if the demerger goes through, there will be value unlocking. There will be more stability, if the offshore division is not hived-off. But without the demerger, a larger balance sheet would mean more contracts, they add.
