US car maker Ford has registered a 42.2 per cent growth on its total sales in December 2012 to 10,899 units from 7,663 units sold in the same month of 2011.
However, the sales of its cars in the overseas market surged by 160 per cent at 4,382 in December 2012 from 1,685 units in the same month of previous year. Year-to-date exports stood at 30,435 units, up by 35 per cent over the previous year. Also Read:
TVS Motor Dec sales down 8% at 1.56 lakh units "Despite a tough business environment, we have seen record exports and sustained customer interest help us maintain a strong growth momentum", said Joginder Singh, who last month succeeded Michael Boneham as the Ford India, President and Managing Director. Ford India currently has 250 sales and service outlet in the country and plans to double it by middle of this decade, the statement added.
