Ford India sales down 21% in June

Car-maker Ford India today reported a 21.20% decline in total sales at 7,281 units in June.
    
The company had sold 9,228 units in the same month last year, Ford India said in a statement.
    
Ford's domestic sales declined by 10.91% to 6,257 units in the reporting month from 7,023 units in the same month last year, it added.
    
Its overseas shipments fell by 53.56% to 1,024 units in June this year from 2,205 units in the same month last year.
    
"While the market continues to face difficult challenges, we believe these are only cyclical and remain confident of the long term outlook of the Indian auto industry," Ford India President and Managing Director Michael Boneham said.
