Bharti Airtel Ltd, India's top mobile operator, continues to explore expansion in emerging markets on a priority basis, its chief executive said on Friday.

The company was not planning to acquire US mobile service Sprint Nextel Corp, Manoj Kohli told reporters after the company announced its quarterly results.

"The answer to this specific question is a big no," he said, responding to a question whether Bharti was eyeing Sprint.

Bharti Airtel, reported a small rise in quarterly profit growth, broadly in line with expectations, as a vicious price war hits margins in the booming industry.
