Etihad Airways has increased its services from Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram following the success of its services.

Since 29th October, 2007 the airline is flying to Kochi 7 times a week and Thiruvananthapuram 7 times a week.

The greater frequency results from Etihad's South India service performing exceptionally well within 6 months of its launch in May 2007. More than 25000 passengers have flown on the Kochi- Abu Dhabi and Thiruvananthapuram - Abu Dhabi route with an 86% per cent seat factor from Kochi and 77% seat factor from Thiruvanathapuram.

Neerja Bhatia, Acting Country Manager, Etihad Airways said, "There is a huge demand for flights from South India to the UAE. Our increased flights will provide an important link for the many thousands of Indians living and working in the UAE and across the Middle East. We look forward to welcoming more leisure and business travellers aboard Etihad Airways' flights between Abu Dhabi and South India."

Etihad currently operates daily flights from Abu Dhabi to the commercial capital Mumbai and national capital New Delhi and seven-flights-per-week to Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum) and seven to Kochi (Cochin).
