At the backdrop of this, Essar Steel has developed adequate facilities and systems using most modern techniques. They said Essar Steel produced HBI/HOT DRI from Midrex process using high-grade pellets and lumps ore and natural gas. This process gives highly metallised HBI/HOT DRI (92-93% Fe metallic) with low-gauge (5-7%) consistently.

All the parameters of production were controlled within very close tolerance and repetitive results were obtained. Human interface was thus of minimum level to a any errors.

It was pointed out that Essar has successfully developed the low carbon EDD and IF steels for panels. The steels are made by careful control carbon during steel making. They said that the company supplied the CRCA steel for making member front crash for INDICA, reinforcement hand-brake-mounting, centre pillar cover R/L for M & M Scorpioand fuel tank for Minidoor, Force Motors.

The steel was successfully formed without wrinkles or cracks under normal die-settings without affecting productivity at customer send.
