Epson , the world leader* in data projectors, announced the launch of the EPSON Dreamio EMP-TW1000.  The 1080p 3LCD High Definition projector is the world's first consumer projecting device with a HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) 1.3** input interface.

HDMI 1.3 connectivity with 'Deep Colour' for richer viewing experience

While standard HDTV broadcasts and DVD movies are delivered on 8-bit colour depth, HDMI 1.3 supports a revolutionary 30-bit 'Deep Colour' format, also referred to as xvYCC (Extended-gamut YCC).  This technology expands the number of viewable colours from millions to billions and completely eliminates colour banding and subtle gradations between colours.  In simple terms, 'Deep Colour' supports 1.8 times as many colours as the common RGB (Red, Green, Blue) primary colours that make up most of the digital images that we see today. With EPSON EMP-TW1000, you will be assured of a future-proofed investment and an unmatched audiovisual home theatre experience everytime.

Features for images that are smoother, sharper and easy on the eyes

To complement 'Deep Colour', viewers can expect ultra realistic images with a high 12,000:1 contrast ratio.  The super high contrast ratio becomes most obvious when viewing images with deep blacks or bright backgrounds.  To churn out pixel perfect images, the new Epson Cinema Filter works diligently to produce realistic lifelike colours.  To resolve the typical overexposure found in bright scenes, the built in Epson Super White compensates automatically so images do not smart the eyes and remain vibrant and clear.  So, whether it is dark scenes in scary thrillers or sunny summer day heart-warming romances, the EPSON EMP-TW1000 faithfully pays full attention even to the finest details.

To consistently produce razor sharp images with accurate colour expression, Epson's Auto Iris Optical System is an intelligent engine which controls lamp brightness at an amazing 60 times per second.  This is a great feature which makes the EPSON EMP-TW1000 adaptable to any home theatre environment.  There are also seven easy-to-use colour settings which correspond to room types for ideal colour and brightness calibration.  For example, the "living room" mode is designed for rooms with curtains drawn.

For optimal optical efficiency, Epson's proprietary E-TORL (Epson-Twin Optimise Reflection Lamp) with 1200 ANSI lumens is more than capable of beaming clear and striking images for the home theatre.
