On the occasion of World Grandparent's Day Dr.Batra's Positive Health Clinics & Shepherd's Widow's Home took the opportunity to honor the elders of our society. The event was held at Dr. Batras' 45th clinic in Marine Lines and residents from Shepherd's Widow's Home spoke about their experiences with Dr. Batra's and their thoughts on the importance of grandparents in one's life. Advice to the younger generation also came from celebrity grandparents and other important figures from Mumbai . Dr. B K Goyal, Dean Dean - Bombay Hospital Institute Of Medical Sciences , friends from Shepherd's Widow's home and Dr. Mukesh Batra inaugurated this event and spoke about Geriatrics and Homeopathy . Jayesh Bhattacharya, son of Kumar Sanu sang at the event in the celebration of World Grandparent's Day.
World Grandparents' Day began in 1970 US to honor the lonely and elderly in nursing homes. And keeping with this trend Dr. Batra's chose this day to raise awareness of the various geriatric health problems. Some of the common disorders are decrease in usability of the 5 senses, gastro-intestinal problems and musculosketal problems like arthritis. Rev. Bardey, Trustee Shepherd's Widow's Home said that " In today's 'Nuclear Family' culture, the joy of Grandparenting is somewhere lost. We often have no time left with no time to share a moment of happiness with the elders of our society. The loss of 'Joint Families' has created lost opportunities in the pleasure of the grandparent – grandchild relationship. This often leads to various problems primarily Physical and psychological problems are challenging which are not only for the patient, but also their families who miss the involvement of a dear person in their lives."
Adding to this, Dr. Mukesh Batra, Chairman and Managing Director Dr. Batra's® Positive Health Clinics Private Limited said, " With the evolving geriatric healthcare practices in Mumbai, people have started seeking for safe medication thereby emphasizing on alternative therapy. Since homeopathy heals its patients holistically, it has emerged as the preferred choice of treatment ". Homeopathy is known for attacking the root cause of the disease and curing it with safe medication; and therefore senior citizens are starting to prefer homeopathic treatment. He further added, " Dr. Batra's® Positive Health Clinic has been providing health care for senior citizens for the past 20 years and has seen a great demand for homeopathic treatment for Geriatric health problems. A new clinic at Marine Lines will help us assist our society's grandparents with advanced homeopathic treatments and counseling."
