Working on easy fiscal and compliance norms for startups: Kant

Speaking to CNBC-TV18, Amitabh Kant, DIPP Secretary says that the government will ensure easy compliance environment for startups as well as work on a roadmap to deal with issues related to start-up ventures.


Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to unveil 'Startup India', a well-defined ecosystem for startups in the country, on January 16, 2016. Department of Industry Policy & Promotion (DIPP) alongwith counterparts in MSME, Department of Information Technology, Department of Telecom (DoT), Finance Ministry as well as the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) will finalize the contours of 'Startup India'.


Speaking to CNBC-TV18, Amitabh Kant, DIPP Secretary says that the government will ensure easy compliance environment for startups as well as work on a roadmap to deal with issues related to start-up ventures.

The focus is expected to be on finding balance between exemptions and facilitation for startups as it is not possible to do away with all government regulations.  

The launch is expected to be attended by 40 top honchos of the Silicon Valley that includes SoftBank, Uber and Google. The event, which will feature various workshops, will be live telecasted to 350 districts.
