Finance Minister Arun Jaitley told the house that Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh has constituted separate teams to assess the losses in each state and that the government would act with compassion.

Jaitley also said that the ministers with portfolios related to agriculture would visit the affected states. A committee would be formed to look into farm distress with respect to unseasonal rains. The Centre will compile information regarding crop damage and would take appropriate measures, added Jaitley.
