eClerx Services Ltd. (ESL), the first KPO to be listed in India, today announced its first quarter results for fiscal 2009. ESL provides data analytics and customized process solutions to global enterprise clients from its offshore delivery centres in India.
Consolidated financial highlights three months ended June 30, 2008
Revenue for the three months ended June 30, 2008 was Rs 46.03 crore vs Rs 26.21 crore in the corresponding period last year, YoY growth of 76%. Operating revenue for the quarter was Rs 42.35 crore, YOY growth of 62%.
EBIDTA for the quarter ended June 30, 2008 was Rs 19.70 crore, growth of 60% YoY.
Profit after tax for the quarter ended June 30, 2008 at Rs 16.09 crore as compared to Rs 10.42 crore in the corresponding period last year, growth of 54% YoY.
Net profit margin was 34.9% for the quarter ended June 30, 2008.
Basic EPS for the quarter ended June 30, 2008 was Rs 8.52.
Commenting on the results, Mr. P.D. Mundhra, Executive Director said “During the quarter, the business continued to gain traction with our clients amidst a challenging macro-economic environment, highlighting the value customers see in our solutions. Operating revenue grew 62% YOY and 14% over previous quarter. We added 3 new clients in Q1. Our Pune facility went live in April 2008 and will ultimately have a total capacity of over 900 seats.”

Company’s employee base as on June 30, 2008 stands at 1797 as compared to 1154 at the end of corresponding quarter last year.
