Idea Cellular, one of the largest telecom operators in India, is set to announce its results for the third quarter of financial year 2012-13 on Tuesday. Analysts on an average expect profit after tax to grow by 2.25 percent quarter-on-quarter to Rs 245 crore in the quarter.
Revenues are seen going up by 3.7 percent to Rs 5,509 crore from Rs 5,314 crore during the same period, which is slightly lower than usual 7 percent growth of last few quarters. According to analysts, that will get impacted by lower subscriber additions (driven by tighter KYC norms).
Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) are expected to rise 2.77 percent QoQ to Rs 1,462 crore in October-December quarter.
EBITDA margin is likely to be flat at 26.5 percent as against 26.76 percent QoQ due to higher selling, general & administrative expense (SG&A).
Average revenue per user is seen going up by 5.4 percent to Rs 156 and revenue per minute (RPM) is likely to go up by 0.3 percent QoQ at 41.4 paise.
Analysts expect minutes of usage to rise by 5 percent QoQ to 377.
According to analysts, key to watch is revenue per minute, which could see marginal improvement due to lower discounts.
RPM improved by 1 paise in previous quarter from 41.2 paise to 41.3 paise. (Its rival Reliance Communications reported 1.8 percent improvement in RPMs in Q3)
