Don't see major revenue from 'Aadhar' in FY12: Bartronics

In an interview to CNBC-TV18, Sudhir Rao, managing director and chief operating officer of Bartronics India said, as far as the Aadhar programme is concerned, currently the state of the project is at the enrolment stage. From the companys perspective, the revenue stream that we are expecting is more from the next stage cards issue process.

He further said, he doesnt expect anything significant from the Aadhar programme during the current financial year.

Below is the edited transcript of his interview with CNBC-TV18's Ekta Batra and Reema Tendulkar. Also watch the accompanying video.

Q: We understand that you were one of the partners with regards to the UID project. Where things stand there?

A: As far as the Aadhar programme is concerned, currently the state of the project is at the enrolment stage. We are one of the enrolment partners. We have got few districts across India where we are doing the enrolment process.

However, from the companys perspective, the revenue stream that we are expecting is more from the cards issue process. That is the next stage. At this moment, there are no clear timeline defined. So, we dont expect anything significant from the Aadhar programme during the current financial year.

Q: Currently, in the enrolment stage, what kind of revenues are you making? Even though you cannot tell us the timeline of cards issue, when it does through, what are you pencilling in by way of revenue?

A: During the enrolment process, the revenues are pretty small. We get some fix amount of money per enrolment that is done for the programme. But having said that, the total amount that we could earn during the current financial year is not going to be significant, considering we will be crossing Rs 1,000 crore as far as the topline is concerned.

As far as the card issue process is concerned, thats the huge revenue of boost in terms of contributing towards the overall growth of the company. So, if it does happen next financial year, the way we are looking at it, I think it may turnout to contribute more than 30-35% of our business.
