Reliance Natural Resources Limited ( RNRL ) submitted its reply to Reliance Industries' ( RIL ) special leave petition (SLP) in the Supreme Court on Tuesday, reported CNBC-TV18 in an exclusive. The petition says that the SLP filed by RIL deserves to be dismissed.

The government has little role to play in a private dispute, RNRL said referring to its tussle with RIL over gas supply from the KG basin. "RIL is seeking to fire its gun from the government's shoulder," it said amid reports that the government may join the legal dispute as a party.

The petition also said that the Bombay High Court correctly upheld the decision that government nod was not needed for deciding the sale price. "RIL's gas sale agreement, signed in January 2006, needs to be amended and the clause on government approval for price should be struck off," RNRL said.
