The Retail Jeweller Awards, an exclusive event presented by Forevermark- A diamond is forever  in association with K Raheja Universal,was all about pride, prestige and celebrating industry excellence ,especially to celebrate the work of jewelers. Top stars of the $12 billion Indian retail jewellery industry including Srikant Zaveri, Mahesh Jagwani, Biren Vaidya, Shehzad Zaveri, Ishu Datwani, Vijay Jain, Ramesh Narang, Shailesh Sangani, Ashok Minawala, Amar Hemdev, Mahesh Rao, Rajiv Popley attended the awards titled “Elite circle of excellence”.


 


Top officials of DTC, World gold council and Platinum guild international were also present. Russel Mehta (Rosy Blue), Paras Mehta (Dimexon), Ankit Mehta (D Navinchandra) and Piyush Shah (K Girdharlal) represented the De Beers sightholders list. Prasad Kapre (DTC), Rahul Raheja (K Raheja Universal) ,Peter Meeus and Samit Bhatta (International Diamond Laboratories), Rupak Sen (Ira), Arun Bhatnagar (Gitanjali) and Sagar Joshi (Dimexon) gave away awards.


 


Soma Bhatta, Director, Retail Management Group and Editor of The Retail Jeweller magazine, organizers of The Retail Jeweller awards said “The awards is a tribute to excellence in Indian jewellery retail and a prestigious avenue to share best practices. In a performance driven market with strong 20% growth annually the awards mark a significant milestone and herald to the world, the coming of age of jewellery dream merchants”.


 


The awards showcased and recognized an array of outstanding work ,performed by brands and companies in the jewellery industry where Srikant Zaveri of TBZ and Arun Mehta of Rosy Blue received standing ovation for their Lifetime achievement awards. Sanjay Kothari of GJEPC and Prasad Kapre of DTC received the industry nominated coveted awards for most outstanding contribution to the jewellery industry in the last decade.


 


Laksh Pahuja with his pioneering jewellery creation featuring live marine creatures won the Designer of the year award. Anmol and Mahesh Notandass won in the gold and Men’s jewellery categories. Punjab Jewellers won the Coloured gemstone and most innovative jewellery design of the year. Tanishq, Gitanjali Nakshatra, and Ira won top honours in the jewellery marketing categories. Rose Salon and Tanishq won in the best new showroom categories. Orra, Hazoorilal, RR Agarwal, Mahesh Notandass, ATR, and Kirtilals were judged the best retailers in the country. NIFT won the student jewellery designer of the year award.


 


The evening had a glamorous fashion show featuring top models like Nina Manuel, Dipanita Sharma, and Tapur Chatterjee while Sindhura Gadde ex-Femina Miss India World compered the evening and looked glamorous in a stunning diamond necklace.
