Deutsche Bank today announced three key appointments in its subsidiary Deutsche Equities India Private Limited (DEIPL): Abhay Laijawala as Head of Research, Dick H Mody as Head of Equity Sales and Pramod Ahwad as Head of Dealing.
Announcing the appointments, Noreddine Sebti, Head, Global Markets Equities, Asia, said "These hires are yet another indicator of our commitment to our Equities presence in India and implementation of our growth strategy."
Pratik Gupta, Head, Global Markets Equities, said “I am delighted to welcome these three talented professionals into our equities' franchise. Their rich and varied experience in the Indian capital markets should add immense value to our clients and assist Deutsche Bank in further strengthening its institutional equities business, which continues to grow rapidly.”
Prior to this Mr. Laijawala was Head of Asia Pacific Metals & Mining Research at JP Morgan in Mumbai and brings with him nearly 15 years of Equities experience. Apart from strong international experience and a wealth of corporate relationships, Mr.Laijawala has been highly rated by clients in internal reviews as well as external polls. He was voted as runner up in the Asia Institutional Investor Survey for metals & mining for 2006 and 2007 and was also rated as one of India's best analysts in 2005 and 2006 by Business Today. Mr. Laijawala has a Master of Commerce degree from the University of Mumbai and an MBA from the University of Rhode Island, USA.
Dick H.Mody joins from Morgan Stanley where he headed the sales effort in the USA for 4 1/2 years. Mr. Mody brings with him 16 years of experience in the Indian capital markets and numerous insititutional client relationships. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Mumbai and is also a Chartered Accountant.
Pramod Ahwad, who was earlier with Kotak Securities as Head of Dealing for 41/2 years, brings in around 14 years of capital market experience. Mr.Ahwad holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and Post Graduate Diploma in Management Studies from Mumbai University.
